Cycle Course Description

1. Exit Stanborough Park turning left onto Stanborough Road, A6129.

2. After 100 metres, at first roundabout take 2nd exit passing under underpass.

3. After 100 metres, at roundabout take 3rd exit onto B653.

4. Continue forward on B653 for 3 miles.

5. At roundabout take 2nd exit continuing forward on B653.

6. After 1 mile, reach roundabout at Wheathampstead, take 3rd exit onto Lamer Lane, B651.

7. Continue forward on Lamer Lane, B651, for 1.3 miles. The road becomes Kimpton Road; continue straight ahead for a further mile.

9. At the bottom of the road you reach a T - junction, turn left onto B652.

11. Continue forward on B652 for 1.5 miles, where road bears sharply to the left.

12. The B652 rises up a steepish hill becoming Bower Heath Lane, but remaining the B652.

13. Road descends hill to T- junction after 1 mile turn left onto Lower Luton Road, B653.

14. Continue forward on Lower Luton Road, B653, for half a mile. At round about take first exit, continuing forward on B653.

15. Continue forward on B653 for a further half-mile to roundabout, taking 2nd exit and continuing forward again on B653.

16. Continue forward on B653, Lower Luton Road, for a further 1.7 miles, at roundabout turn left up Lamer Lane again.

17. This is the beginning of the second lap (Competitors on who have completed the second lap will go straight onwards through the round about on the B653 back towards Stanborough Park).

18. Continue forward up Lamer Lane, B651, for 1.3 miles, The road becomes Kimpton Road, continue straight ahead for a further mile.

19. At the bottom of the road you reach a T - junction, turn left onto B652.

20. Continue forward on B652 for 1.5 miles, where road bears sharply to the left.

21. The B652 rises up a steepish hill becoming Bower Heath Lane, but remaining the B652.

22. Road descends to a T- junction after 1 mile. Turn left onto Lower Luton Road, B653.

23. Continue forward on Lower Luton Road, B653, for half a mile, at roundabout take first exit continuing on B653.

24. Continue on B653 for half a mile, at mini roundabout take 2nd exit, continuing forward on Lower Luton Road, B653.

25. Continue forward on Lower Luton Road, B653, for 1.8 miles. At roundabout continue straight ahead taking 2nd exit, onto B653. YOU ARE HEADING FOR HOME

27. Continue on B653 for 1.1 miles to roundabout taking first exit and continuing on B653

28. Continue on B653 for 3 miles, at roundabout take 2nd exit.

29. 100 metres further on, reach a second roundabout; take first exit onto Stanborough Road, A6129.

30. Continue forward on Stanborough Road for 0.5 miles to first round about, take 4th exit back onto      Stanborough Road, A6129.

31. Continue forward for 0.5 miles turning left into Stanborough Park.

32. Finish cycle route, turn left into transition.
